BACR’s mission is to promote the healthy development of individuals and families, encourage service and volunteerism, and help build community. We carry out our mission by (1) providing direct school- and community-based services, (2) connecting volunteers with opportunities to best serve their communities, and (3) building and strengthening all of the communities we serve so that community members and institutions can effect change.
Alameda Education Foundation
The mission of the Alameda Education Foundation is to engage the community, raise funds, and coordinate programs to support and enhance the quality of K-12 public education in Alameda. Our programs support the academic, athletic, creative, and social growth for Alameda’s public school students. We manage and support a variety of programs in music, drama, sports, foreign languages, science, technology, college prep, and much more. We believe that thriving public schools are essential for a strong community and a promising future.
Positive Coaching Alliance
Coaching Corps is committed to recruiting, training and supporting coaches so that they may guide youth in under-resourced communities to ensure kids can benefit from the positive impact sports and coaches can have on their lives. To date, we have placed over 19,000 coaches with hundreds of after school sports programs, serving over 210,000 youth in underserved communities across the country. By pairing qualified coaches with after school sports programs in under-resourced areas, we can provide youth with a fun experience that enhances their positive development.
